End of 3rd 9 weeks

Monday is the last day of the 3rd nine weeks.  My grades are due on March 21st, and report cards will be distributed after spring break.  Research Papers are due on Monday – no exceptions!!!  I have to have time to grade them.  Those who turned them in already received 5 extra points on the project.  Next week we will continue reading To Kill a Mockingbird starting with Part Two (chapter 12).  We will have a quiz on Friday on chapters 12-15, and you will have several chapters to read over Spring Break (but not much).  I want to get to the trial scene when we return.  Keep moving forward!

Friday

Today is catch up and practice grammar day.  We are also gearing up to work on research papers next week. If you did not pick up a packet yesterday, you need to get one today.  I have put names on all those absent yesterday, and 6th period did not receive them.  We had a quiz on Chapters 5-8 of TKAM, so if you were absent, you will need to make it up today, or Monday if you are going on the Interact field trip.

Next week we will be in the media center all week doing research on authors.  You had an opportunity to choose authors yesterday, so if you were absent or in rehearsal, you will have to choose from the list of who is left (it’s still pretty extensive.  Be ready to work next week.  The final deadline for the research papers is March 15.

Today is the Read Across America outreach activity for Interact.  I will be out with the group who will be attending the program at Sherwood Elementary School.  In class today, you will be working on correcting sentence fragments and run-on sentences in preparation for our writing next week.  You will also get your TKAM portfolio up to date, and catch up on your reading.  Read chapter 9 today or this weekend, and that is where we will pick up when we return to the classroom.
