Red Ribbon Week: Love Yourself..Be Drug Free

Red Ribbon Week activities will be held Monday, October 27th – Friday, October 31st.

Monday, October 27th                 “Join the Fight Against Drugs”

Students are encouraged to wear camouflage clothing.  Our military parents are encouraged to come eat lunch with their child and wear their camouflage uniform.

Tuesday, October 28th                 “Bullying Make Me Blue”

October is Bullying Awareness Month.  The National Theme is “Stomp Out Bullying”.  Students are encouraged to wear blue clothing in support of the anti-bullying campaign.

 

Wednesday, October 29th           “Wear Red Day”

Students are encouraged to wear red clothing.  This is the official “Red Ribbon Day”.   All students will receive red stickers.

 

Thursday, October 30th               “Team Up Against Drugs”

Students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team jersey.  This will be our last football game.  We will be playing Arnold Middle School.  Please come out and support the PCIS Red Devils.

Friday, October 31th                     “Drugs Are Tacky”

Students are encouraged to dress tacky.  *Dress code will still be enforced.

October is swiftly departing

We are currently in Unit 2 Week 5, which means we are wrapping up this unit.  Unit assignments and test will be the end of next week Oct. 31st, and Monday of the following week, Nov. 3rd.  In language class, we are working on formal business letters – letters of complaint.  The final copies of these letters are due Oct. 31st.

Monday, Oct. 27th we have our weekly spelling quiz, followed by the weekly grammar quiz on Oct. 28th.  This week’s grammar skill is appositives.  Here’s a link to additional practice:

Last, there is a grammar test on all of unit 2 skills that is included in your unit assessment that you will take in Ms. Williams’s class.  Also, there is a writing assessment that you will take in my class as part of the unit assessment.
