About Me

Originally from Louisiana, I am currently a 7th grade Language teacher at St. Luke School. I am excited to join the staff for 2015-16, and hopefully, many more years. Last year, I taught 6th grade language at Phenix City Intermediate School.  In 2013-14, I taught Creative Language Arts at South Girard School in Phenix City, AL where we presented Alice in Wonderland Jr. as our drama club production, and traveled to New York City over Spring Break.  Prior to that, I taught English for five years at Central Freshman Academy in Phenix City.  My husband and I moved to the Chattahoochee Valley seven years ago with our two wonderful children.

I am a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and a master’s in education.  I enjoy reading, traveling, acting, and spending time with the family.  We are sports fans who cheer for numerous collegiate and professional teams:  New Orleans Saints, Southern Miss Golden Eagles, and the Auburn Tigers.   In my free time, I am involved in Family Theatre and volunteer at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, both located in Columbus, GA.

I believe that education is the key to improving life and society.  I believe that every child is capable of learning, and that teachers can reduce failures by caring, encouraging, and supporting individuals.    I will make every effort to support my students, and I expect them to respond in kind.  I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of St. Luke School: to provide each student with an excellent academic education that is faith-based,
by challenging and nurturing the mind, body and spirit, and by developing responsible servant leadership.

I encourage my students and parents to utilize this blog to keep up with class assignments and activities.  Please email me with any questions that occur during the year.  I am here to support you in your growth process toward adulthood.
