It has been way too long since I last posted. I apologize to students or parents who check the site on a regular basis. We finally finished To Kill a Mockingbird about a week ago, and in the time since then, we have been refocusing on grammar. We will have a test on Thursday on Grammar: parts of speech, function in sentences, subject/verb agreement, and verbals. I will distribute a study guide on Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday and Wednesday this week, students will be taking the second round of the Global Scholars testing. Then we will complete an activity on Freedom Writers and watch the movie. The following week we will beginning one last book: honors classes will read the Odyssey and regular classes will read Sharon Draper’s book Forged by Fire. We will finish out the year with a writing assignment. End of course tests are the second week in May, and end of year assessments will be during final exam week.
