19 More Days –

It doesn’t seem like much, but class is still going on.  We aren’t shutting it down until the last day of school.  Check the website for updates. The Unit 6 Week 4 newsletter is posted already, and will be distributed in class on Monday or Tuesday.  We are working on the Unit 6 writing assignment, argumentative essays.  Please turn in your graphic organizer on Wednesday of this week.  Grammar and Spelling test tomorrow!

Today is Tuesday

Weekly newsletters were distributed yesterday.  Homework is due on Thursday (vocabulary and spelling), and journal entries are due Friday. Our weekly journal topic is another argumentative entry to practice for our unit writing.  This week’s prompt is “All children should attend preschool.”  Choose a for or against side to the issue, and give reasons to support your answer.  Remember in argumentative writing, to present an opposing view, then rebut that view.  This week’s grammar quiz is on comparative and superlative adverbs.  Make sure to keep up with your foldables; this will be for a grade taken up at the end of next week.

What a fast week!

Alas, Spring Break is almost over (insert giant sigh).  I hope everyone has had a restful and relaxing week.  Happy Easter tomorrow!  We go back to school on Monday.  We will begin Unit 6 when we return.  I have already uploaded the newsletter for next week.  It’s on the class website, and is available each week if you misplace the one I give you.  We will be studying adverbs this unit for our grammar skill.  For writing, we will focus on argumentative writing.  Below, see pictures from our wonderful field trip to the Springer.
