End of 2013

As usual, a teacher doesn’t just rest on Christmas vacation, though I have spent a number of days in my pajamas in front of the TV.  I have also graded papers, and scoured the internet for new ideas, and ordered new supplies.  The academic semester ended with the Christmas Showcase – a toss-up of good and not-so-good moments, and the auditions for SGS Spring Play Alice in Wonderland, Jr.  Cast members have been posted, and I am looking forward to a wonderful performance in April.  We will meet on Thursday, Jan. 9th after school to discuss plans and rehearsal schedules.  I will be saying farewell to my current group of Creative Language Arts students and welcoming a new group on Jan. 10th.  Here’s to a new year!Image

Happy Thanksgiving & Back to Work

One week until the Christmas Showcase.  I am excited to be working with you on this “production.”  I hope everyone who has lines is busy memorizing them, and everyone else is working on various aspects of the show.  This assignment includes an aspect of a grade, so make sure you are participating and plan on attending next Tuesday if at all possible.  You will get extra credit for actually being present that night.  Our lessons this week will focus on the production aspects of drama, most importantly rehearsals.  We will also discuss props, scenery, publicity, lighting, sound, and much more.
