Unit 2 Week 2

Hope everyone enjoyed your 3 day weekend while your teachers were being “professionally developed.”  This Unit focuses on informational text and writing.  We will be writing a journal entry explaining how time is wasted during the school day, and how it can be avoided. We are still working on nouns this unit – proper singular and plural forms.  Spelling and vocabulary homework assignments are due Friday, with the spelling quiz Friday and Grammar Quiz Monday.

Friday is our day to go to the library – bring your books.  Keep reading – Ms. Kennedy’s homeroom is killing it right now!  Great job.

Unit writing assignment this month is a business letter – you will be writing letters of complaint.  Have a great week!

New Week

We are now in the last week of our first unit of study.  I can’t believe we have been in school for almost five weeks now.  The new language newsletter assignments are on the website in case you misplace yours.  Wednesday is our day to go to the Book Fair in the Media Center – Bring $$.  We are working on our five-paragraph personal narratives this week.  Please make sure you turn in all four steps of the writing process (pre-writing, drafting, revising/editing, and publishing).  Have a great week!

Happy Labor Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Labor Day holiday.  We are beginning Unit 1 Week 4 in class this week.  The five day assignment week will end a week from tomorrow.  The spelling quiz will be on Friday this week, and the grammar quiz will be on Monday, Sept. 8th.  The journal prompt response for this week will also be due on Monday Sept. 8th.  I will be posting the weekly newsletters on the website so you can work on them from home even if you forget your spelling or vocabulary words.  I will also upload a blank vocab  block.
